Farmers' Markets

There is a fabulous farmers' market at the Springs Preserve every Thursday morning, from 10-1pm. Get there early for best choice of produce and parking spaces! There are truly local farmers selling their goodies at the market. Some have small farms in the Las Vegas Valley. Others are just over the hill in Boulder City, Overton or Pahrump.

There are also magical treats that I'd bet you've never heard of (Buddha's hand, anyone?) from Southern California. My friend Janet, who has a stand at the market too, says the market is all about trying something new.

If vegetables don't tickle your fancy, you can't say no to a baguette. Or fresh pasta? Or to locally roasted coffee beans?

And now.... there is a farmers' market downtown, as well on Friday morning from 9-2pm. I saw this guy selling coffee beverages there the first week.

Now you don't have an excuse! Go check out the local food scene.

Mountain Rose Herb Order/LVHC Social

Happy August 1st!

It's that time again to place our group order. Please visit Mountain Rose Herb's website and email me (KEEPITREALLV @ ME . COM) the items, with sizes/quantities of what you'd like. The deadline to place your order is the 3rd.

Tomorrow night is our social to talk and educate on gardening in your yard (or even on your patio/balcony in pots). Julie Sligar has graciously offered to host this meeting at her home, located in the NW part of the valley (near Arbor view High School). She is going to show us her garden and discuss how her raised planter beds were constructed, irrigation and her views on growing things here in the desert. I will also give some ideas from my gardening experiences here in Vegas and encourage all of you to do the same. This is all about community and helping each other with the knowledge that we have. Please join us to meet fellow Las Vegan's interested in living healthy lives and maybe even begin growing your own herbs and vegetables!
Thank you for your interest in the Las Vegas Herb Co-Op. I've attached the guidelines for ordering below.

I hope to see you tomorrow night at Julie's house. If you are interested in attending but still need directions please email me

thank you,
Christine Frazzitta
Keep it Simple. Keep it Pure. Keep it Real

We can still order as a group and receive the 15% discount from Mountain Rose Herbs on all items, as well as a larger discount on bulk herbs when we get to a large volume, (up to 40% off of dried herbs and teas) when we order in 1# sizes.
Until the LVHC website is back up we can order as a group in this way.

1. Each member will view the Mountain Rose Herbs website and choose what they'd like to order and email their order to me by midnight on the 3rd of each month. I will tally up the order, apply the 15% discount and also apply a $5/per person shipping fee.

2. I will email you the total amount of your order, including the discount and shipping.

3. You will need to have a paypal account and paypal your total to this email address/paypal account by 5pm on the 5th of the month.

4. I will place the order on the 6th and notify the group that it's been received and sort the products. The order takes about 10-12 days to arrive since it get's routed internally for our group discount.

6. Each person will be responsible for picking up their purchase from my home, I live just N of Sunset between Green Valley Pkwy. and Pecos. If we are able to establish an additional drop to make it more convenient for the group, please volunteer if you can be an additional pick up spot. I can occasionally deliver to you, depending on where you are located, I drive between the west and east side of the valley at least once a week.
